Col the Swagman, AKA renowned Bush Poet Colin Driscoll, travels around Australia with his swag and billy checking out the native flora and fauna to make sure it is all ok. While he’s walking he makes up poems about our furry, feathered and scaly friends.

With his unique interactive stories Col not only provides the students with a fun and entertaining lesson in creative writing and Bush Poetry, he also delivers a very informative and educational lesson on Australia’s unique wildlife.

Don’t worry, there are no real scratchy biting critters in this presentation, just a few of Col’s cute cuddly mates who have hitched a ride in his swag. Mates such as Mrs Kangaroo, Percy the Platypus, Ethel the Echidna and Chuckles the Kookaburra will have your students totally enthralled in this interactive learning experience.

The duration of presentations/workshops (literature based) can be tailored to suit your requirements, and levels of learning can be flexible to meet the needs of different age groups. From a simple introduction to Bush Poetry for younger students, to older students being inspired and encouraged to write their very own poems, these workshops are educational, entertaining and rewarding for all involved.
