My Primary School Workshops are going well with two trips to Melbourne in the last few weeks.
First up was a return visit to the Sunshine Harvester Primary School where I conducted 2 workshops for the Year 6ers who are planning to write and recite their very own poems at their end of year Graduation Night.
Many of these students have attended my workshops over several years and have advanced very well with their understanding of Rhythm, Rhyme and Meter. Once again it was a pleasure to work with the kids, teachers and staff at Sunshine Harvester Primary School, and I wish the entire group of Year 6ers well in their final year. Good luck kids and keep rhyming.
Then I made a visit out to the East Bentleigh Primary School where I had a full day of classes with all the kids, ranging from Preps up to the Year 6ers. The younger grades had fun with my interactive poems and just loved cuddling up to the furry native animals they found hiding in my swag.
The older kids all got down to the business of learning about Rhythm, Rhyme and Meter and many had made very encouraging progress on their written poems by the end of the classes.
A huge thanks to all the kids, teachers and staff from both schools for making me feel so welcome. Hopefully we can unearth a few upcoming Bush Poets to keep the campfire burning well into the future.
